No Fly List, try the No Hire List

In an effort to curtail those nasty illegal aliens, the Federal Government now is trying to introduce and pass legislation that would give them, the State, oversight on hiring of employees across the nations 7.4 million employers.

Hmm, that's odd. My copy of the Constitution doesn't provide them with this power, interesting.

So, if this bill were to become law I can see the new bureaucracy now. The "Ministry of Labor" (who knows who will provide oversight of their hiring process) would have your number, know when you work, who you work for, how long you worked for them, etc. And if you "accidentally" get put on the "no hire list"...you can kiss your job, future jobs and any unconstitutional social program from helping you out.

Happy Tax Day

The process seems rather intrusive, doesn’t it? They expect you to write them a detailed report about everything you’ve been doing all year so they can then insist that you give them a cut.

Social Security Identify Theft Prevention Act

So, the Real-ID card was passed a few years ago and a few states have opted out. What is the federal government to do?

Oh, I know. Let's make it even more difficult by placing the Real-ID requirements on the Social Security card. That's a great idea! Kids cannot go to school without a SS Card so they will grow up not knowing any better. Adults will have a hard time getting a job in some places without a SS Card. Let's see those so called "freedom folk" find their way out of this paper bag.

They must really think we are stupid...here's an excerpt (full story here).

Liberty or Slavery? It's Time to Decide

by Tom Hudson and Scott McPherson

On March 18 the United States Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller. The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled in March 2007 that the Second Amendment guarantees and protects an individual rather than a “collective” right to bear arms. DC Mayor Adrian Fenty petitioned for an appeal. The Supreme Court will settle the matter.

The freedom or slavery of future generations of Americans depends on their decision.

I.R.S. versus Blade

It appears Wesley Snipes didn’t stick it to the Internal Revenue Service the way Blade the vampire hunter would have. Today’s strip is the case as it should have gone. Of course I don’t endorse disintegrating Internal Revenue Agents with technologically advanced silver weapons, but it’s cathartic, isn’t it?

National ID Parlor

States will have five more years to implement a National ID according to this article. I can’t help but be skeptical of how serious a security issue it can really be if we can afford to wait five more years.
There are two Easter eggs in today’s cartoon. Roll over the image to find them.
