Drinking teens learn how our government works

Fellow member of New Hampshire Seacoast Liberty, Jason Howard wrote a great opinion piece entitled “Drinking teens learn how our government works” over here. Here’s a brief excerpt:

I would hope you consider these arrests a wake-up call on how the real world works. You need to understand that you live in a free country and in a free country you can’t just do what you want, even if what you do does not harm anyone else. You see, individuals do not have the right to make decisions for themselves. Only our infallible government has that right.

A Narrow Victory for the New Hampshire Economic Recovery Coalition

That was a close one. Forces in Maine tried to remove our neighbors from the New Hampshire Economic Recovery Coalition by lowering Maine's income tax.

A law that would have lowered the state's income tax but imposed sales taxes on a variety of services is on hold now that opponents have collected enough signatures to place a repeal of the law on the June 2010 ballot.

Maine's secretary of state announced Nov. 9 that sufficient signatures had been collected.

Leap of…Life

Plain and simple, skydiving is all about controlled terror, and I love it.

Not for the Faint of Heart

By Scott McPherson

“I was brought up as a devout Catholic. I had long since stopped believing in God. I always wondered, if things really hit the fan, whether I would, under pressure, turn around and say, you know, a few Hail Marys, and say ‘Get me out of here’. It never once occurred to me. It meant that I really don’t believe, and I really do think that when you die you die, that’s it, there’s no afterlife. There’s nothing.”
