Health Care

Health Dare

So we’re down to this.  Do you dare vote for the trash barrel bill that is pretending to be health Care reform?  Can you countenance your constitutional obligation to defend your constituents from the government by voting for something that Speaker Pelosi declares we cannot begin to know the details of until after the vote is already cast?

Let Them Eat Health Care

Experience matters.  And it is painfully obvious, yet again, that the B team is running the show.  As proof we have the Obama release of an 11 page outline with pointers to the massive Senate bill, with what could be an even higher price tag, just days before the so-called bipartisan confab.  In short, Mr. Obama invited the republicans into the policy kitchen, told them they’d have an opportunity to work with him to develop a menu of options, then showed them what they are serving.

Dear Mr. Emanuel:

A letter has surfaced, purported to have been written by House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) in response to Mr. Obama's invitation to begin discussions on health care legislation.  Most center right observes view the offer as strictly a political move, and some in  the GOP House leadership--based on the content of the letter--would seem to agree.

The Shaheen Report

Those of you who took it upon yourselves to contact your liberal get-along deceptocrat Senator Shaheen via the internet over the past year, may have found an email from her highness in your inbox this weekend.  It is eponymously titled 'The Shaheen Reort' and serves to reward your interactive commitment with a nugget of transparency about the state of things as viewed from inside Senator Shaheen's lichen covered--low carbon foot print cave.

In it, if you did not simply delete it as spam--a more than suitable end to such a waste of digital trees--you would have found Jeanne's (The DNC's) ruminations about the current state of the democrats Health deform package.

Is Hodes Double Dipping On Insider Campaign Cash?

Anyone who wants to believe Paul Hodes is a cleaner than the average candidate should spend some time looking at who donates to his campaign.  We already know Goldman Sachs—Rahm “the ATM” Emanuel’s former employer and major ATM to big left wing government—spends loads on Hodes, but a new contender invites fresh scrutiny.

FMR Corp out of Boston and its Fidelity Investments PAC, has appeared as second only to Goldman when it comes to ‘Big Banks’ that love Paul Hodes, and FMR presents some interesting connections.

Local Flavor....On The Current Health Care Bill

The front page of the Sunday Union Leader reminds us of Governor Lynch's fence-sitting credentials.  He is unhappy with the deal Nebraska (and other states) got, probably because New Hampshire didn't get one too.  My take is that Mr. Lynch is not against a loss of states rights, or an increase in federal dollars required to fund whatever the feds decide,  but he is leary of being the governor if the state has to pay for it on his watch.

So he's really not sitting on a fence is he.

Further along in the article the congressional delegation chimes in.

Senator Jeanne Screws New Hampshire Again!

Senator Shaheen offered a pithy bit of CYA in a recent editorial.  I think she needed to justify her Christmas Eve vote in favor of Scary Harry's wack at Health Reform.  I'd like to think she realized just how bad it was going to be for the state she was elected to represent, but more likely it was because she didn't have the sense to hide her cards before the final draw.   Jeanne was the Charlie Brown Senator.  All she got was a rock.  Actually an anchor is more appropriate.

While I appreciate that she didn't sell her vote, she still sold us out and it has the potential to be the biggest one in state history.

Homonculus

Democrat Press releases are like Gold for Bloggers.  Take the NHDP spin on the Shaheen Health Care Vote.  The Party hacks called it historic.  Yet the only way they could achieve this ‘historic’ vote was to bribe democrat hold-outs with massive amounts of tax payer money, of which Shaheen was no beneficiary.  It’s historic alright, just not in the way Mr. Buckley would like you to think.

It goes out of its way to not just break party promises; it runs them over with the Partridge Family Hopey-Changey bus while Reid and Pelosi rewrite the lyrics to “I’ll Meet You Halfway,” and “Am I losing you.”

So Shaheen is ‘appropriately’ heaped with praise.

Using Health Care to Ban Guns

I believe Government regulation of Health Care will be used to bypass second amendment rights, by making gun possession or ownership a regulated health hazard in America.

The dots are all lined up.  The Obama administration just needs to take their big old no. 2 pencil and connect them.

Dot number one.  The government is already prepared to control insurance companies.  The Senate bill provides the means to establish what will be covered and how much we will pay.   It will also empower the feds--through cabinet level agencies, Czars and Czarinas, and congressional oversight--to define risks and the increased costs associated with them.

A Right Is A Right Is A....

Women, according to a majority of liberals, many moderates, and most blue dog republicans, have a right to an abortion.  They also (if we are to believe the broader context of liberals in the health care debate) have the right to pay for it with your money.  Liberals demand that the federal government make taxpayer money available for abortions.  If we don't, women will be denied their reproductive freedom.  Every major left wing group and progressive worth a specula says it is so.  So let's accept (for a moment) that government funding for abortion is a requirement to protect that right.

No Big Tent

It's fun to watch hypocrisy in action.  All week we've been seeing party purists railing against party members who dare to object to party extremists. And that's from the Liberals.

Yes, the left wants to take this broken left wing and fly, but some democrats and democrats forced to portray themselves as independents, have some issues with the tweaking and retooling of the Health Scare Bill.  Harry Reid's answer is to give away whatever he has to to get this trash can bill out of the Senate. The purists on the left who demand a statist conquest are simply "spittle flying from the lips" livid.
