Report from the Ron Paul Rally in MN

Here's a field report from Chris Lawless:

Left at 3am from NH on Sunday morning. Drove to Ohio and stopped and had beer and BBQ with Jason O of SAKAL CAI fame.
Drove on to MN. We arrived just in time for the Walk for Freedom walkers doing their last leg. We arrived just when Dr Paul arrived and spoke with him for a few minutes.
We made sure that every person who walked and then was at the Federal Reserve 2 miles later got an FSP flyer.
Some of us had a class at the Real Paulitics school. We headed over there.
Inside the bag was an Awesome FSP flyer. However we also put another one on every seat during the break.
There was also a group handing out flyers at a park event that day.
On Monday a group went to the Campaign for Liberty event. (think FSP on chairs again as well as Free Talk Live flyers on chairs).
Also there was a book signing with about 1000 people in line to get Ron to autograph their book. Jon M and a team made sure that everyone got a book mark and heard about the FSP.
There was later an event of picnic and parade and a group handed out flyers at that event.
I had met a few Ron Paul official RNC delegates and we 'traded' lanyards. They brought the FSP lanyards to the floor of the RNC. Angel W from Alaska handed out lots of flyers on the RNC floor.

On Monday night there was an outdoor event, a concert to 'thank the Ron Paul nation'.
We were outside handing out flyers to EVERYONE who walked thru the door. You couldn't pass our team and we were there pretty early.
We also set up selling tshirts and 'frisbees'. The frisbees did ok and were mentioned in a few articles about the event. Some people asked about official weight (they are) and one guy was an ultimate frisbee coach. One guy bought a 'New Hampshire Live Free or Die' tshirt. He put it on. 20 minutes later he came back to us and said... why does everyone keep high fiving me and tell me that they love NH? That is a testament that the word is getting out there.

On Tuesday was the 'main event' we started off getting a shitty booth. But they moved us right away. We were set up next to Break the Matrix and across from the LP. Good traffic. People LOVED the Porc shirts. They bought them even if they had never heard of the FSP.
We had some people who were already in the FSP. We handed them flyers and said... go out. (OF course we had 2-3 people out in the halls with flyers.. it was awesome).
People who heard of the FSP and wanted to talk about how it was going.
People who were thinking of joining but weren't sure wanted to ask questions about living conditions.
People who just wanted a shirt.
People who hated the FSP (I only talked to 3 of them all week)
People who wanted to debate (I told them that I didn't have time... they will probably end up hating us but when there is a crowd of 50 in front of you I need to talk to the other 49..no time to debate weather or Wyoming, or cost of living or weather or Costa Rica)
or my favorite:
people who got the flyer in Washington DC and wanted to find out more!!!

After the rally we handed out some flyers as well.
The next day we drove back... long drive.

We also got interviewed by several different groups and reporters. We also made a point of introducing them all to Will Buchanan and his walk for liberty. (Side note... if you can volunteer 2-3 hours a week for the next 4-6 weeks regarding the walk for liberty please email me)

Chris

P.S. Oh and of course I forget stuff.

Keith C handed out flyers at the anti war rallies all day on Tuesday instead of the rally.
And then was going to hand out flyers at the Rage Against the Machine concert on Wednesday night.

And.... we brought back an early mover.
5 people went out in our car.
6 people came back. He is #563 ( I think)
He got to MN by himself and we brought him back to NH. He is in Manchester.
