New June '06 FSP DVD Available for Download!

Hot on the heels of PorcFest, I've updated the FSP DVD torrent. This is the same copy of the DVD that was at the FSP table at PorcFest, downloadable for those of you who couldn't make it out to PorcFest.

The DVD now includes new footage of various protests (such as the anti-Real-ID rally and Russ & Kat's Free Speech trial), video clips of stirring speeches made by NH legislators on the House floor and on local TV (such as one quoting Patrick Henry's famous line "Give me Liberty, or give me Death!"), new TV news footage, and a slightly slicker main menu.

Everyone is welcome to download it, and burn as many copies as you like!

The DVD image is freely available via BitTorrent.
First, you need a BitTorrent client. I've found Azureus to be my favorite one; others swear by µTorrent.

Once you've downloaded and installed Azureus (or if you already have a BitTorrent client), just click on any of the following:

http://www.torrentbox.com/torrents-details.php?id=51736
http://www.mininova.org/tor/352509

This being BitTorrent, the more people that download, the faster it goes for everyone.
Please, once you have finished downloading, please leave your BitTorrent application running, as this speeds up the download for everyone else. Hige thanks to Free Talk Live; their servers seeded the prior DVD longer than anyone else!

If you run into any trouble, or have any feedback, please post here.
I'll answer questions as best I can, and am always looking for suggestions for the next cut of the DVD.

I see people downloading from all over the US, the Netherlands, the UK, Sweden... I also see at least 2 different downloaders from China! Imagine.... people in some of the most repressive regimes on Earth may be watching what we're doing here n New Hampshire... and what they see may fortify their resolve, give them hope.

Share and Enjoy!

Other ways to get DVD?

One way I protect my PC from attack is to set my router box to disable all incoming request from the internet. Some time ago I installed Azureus. I had to enable some ports through the router for it to work. Although I never tracked down the details I ended up with a variety of unwanted software running on my PC after that. After I shut the ports down and cleaned up the problem stopped. That leads to two questions:

Is there some other way to get the contents of this DVD?

Is there a way to use BitTorrent without risk to my PC?

Re: Other ways to get DVD

I have not had a problem with spyware and I run Azureus at home quite frequently.

Anyway, in addition to the BitTorrent download I will send a physical copy of the DVD to anyone who sends me their snail-mail address (which of course I will not share), and who solemnly swears two things:

  • They have made a monetary donation to the FSP in the past 6 months (at least $5)
  • They will make copies of the DVD and distribute to as many interested people as possible

Send me an email if you'd like a real, physical DVD disc and agree to both points above.
